独特の製造方法で生産され、主に半導体や化学品等に使われるものの原料として高い特性を持つシリコンです。

シリコン粉の粒度は10ミクロン以下の微粉まで対応いたします。

Silgrain®の純度を更に上げた製品

Si(シリコン、ケイ素、珪素)の微粉は3-5ミクロンをカットすることも可能です。
20ミクロンまたは10ミクロン品は数量により製造に少々お時間を頂くかもしれませんが、粉砕工程での不純物の含有量など詳細につきましては弊社までお問い合わせください。

 

Silgrain®

Silgrain® is produced by a unique leaching process developed by Elkem in the late 1960’s. The leaching process reduces impurities that cannot be removed by the conventional metallurgical refining process used for silicon. Silgrain® products are therefore characterized by low content of iron and heavy metals. The leaching process also works as a chemical milling of the silicon, minimizing the need for mechanical milling. Silgrain® HQ is produced by applying a second leaching step, which further improves the purity of the silicon.

Silgrain® products and benefits

Silgrain® Fine has a typical particle size of 45–425 µm or 45 – 500 µm and is mainly used in the production of trichlorosilane for production of polysilicon. The low content of heavy metals gives a high selectivity when reacting Silgrain® with hydrogen chloride (HCl), and high conversion when reacting Silgrain® with silicon tetrachloride (SiCl4) and hydrogen (H2). When using Silgrain it is possible to operate the FBR reactors for a longer time without losing performance. The highest volume of Silgrain® is produced in this size.

Silgrain® Coarse has a typical particle size of 200–800 µm. The amount of fine particles is very low and combined with the low content of iron (less than 0.20 wt.%), Silgrain® Coarse is the preferred raw material for production of trichlorosilane in FBR’s with high gas velocity. Silgrain® Coarse is also used in alloying of silicon into aluminum when low iron content is important, and for silicon infiltration processes in ceramics.

Silgrain® HQ is a high purity silicon with an iron content of less than 0.05 wt.%. The particle size is typically 200–800 µm, with very low content of fines. Silgrain® HQ is mainly used to produce fillers for epoxy in electronics, for silicon infiltration in ceramics (ceramic brake discs, heating elements, kiln furniture etc.), and alloying into high-quality alloys.

Silgrain® Supreme and Silgrain® Supreme MicronCut are silicon powders with low content of all impurities, including less than 1 ppm of both B and P. Silgrain® Supreme has been specially developed for customers who require even higher purity than offered by Silgrain®HQ. Silgrain® Supreme can be supplied in a range of sizes.

This silicon powder is used in a variety of applications, for instance, welding of aluminum, ceramic kiln furniture, production of silane, advanced technical ceramics, particulate filters, pyrotechnics etc.

Silgrain® XO MicronCut is a silicon powder aged under oxidizing conditions to promote growth of the oxide layer. This will lower the formation of hydrogen when the silicon is exposed to water based solutions. Silgrain® XO MicronCut is therefore specially suited for customers using slip casting processes for production of ceramic components. Typical sizes are 0-10 µm, 0-20 µm, 0-45 µm, 0-60 µm, 0-75 µm, 0-100 µm and 0-150 µm.

Silgrain® PreSize is a tailor made silicon powder based on Silgrain® HQ, produced with both a bottom and top cut. The bottom and top cuts are very sharp compared to conventional powders. This powder has been developed to give maximum yield in the plasma process for production of sputtering targets used in the glass industry. Silgrain® has higher conductivity than other silicon powders, enabling a higher deposition rate when using the produced sputtering targets.

Silgrain® Solar PreSize is a tailor made silicon powder containing maximum of 30 ppmw iron, produced with both a bottom and top cut. The powder is developed to give maximum yield in the plasma process for production of high purity sputtering targets used to produce the reflective coating on solar cells. Despite the low iron content, the characteristics of Silgrain®are maintained, resulting in sputtering targets with high conductivity.
